An absolutely stunning vintage rosewood bar cabinet by Torbjorn Afdal. This was made in Norway, it dates from the 1960’s.
This is of exceptional quality, with a clever and very useful design. The rosewood grain patterns and colour tones are gorgeous, this is an incredibly impressive piece.
The doors open 180 degrees, the black formica top flips open and slides across to rest on the doors. The cabinet can be locked when closed and a very clever feature of this design, is that the same locks are used to keep the doors in place when they are open and supporting the unfolded top. The interior is beautifully fitted out in rosewood, with a built in bottle rack and a drawer that is also constructed entirely from solid rosewood. The back of this is also beautifully finished, this sits on lovely chrome casters and is designed to be rolled around very easily.
The condition is superb, we have had the wood stripped and re-polished to a very high standard. The legs can unbolt and detach for ease of transport.
The wood is Santos rosewood which does not require a CITES or article 10.
