1950’s Vintage Teak Writing Bureau by John Herbert for Younger

A stunning and extremely rare vintage bureau in Teak, this was designed by John Herbert and made by Younger furniture around the 1950-60's. This model is something we have never seen advertised anywhere before, it must have been made in very small numbers. As with all Younger furniture, the quality is amazing. This is made from solid Teak throughout, which is unusual as most mid-century furniture is veneered. It comes with a locking key, and inside the writing area has a pigeon hole cabinet that can be slid across to either side. The condition is great for it's age, there are just a couple of very faint ring marks on the top which aren't really noticeable, we have given this a good clean and oiling. There is a very narrow gap that has opened on one side, in between where the two solid wood panels join together. This is also not very noticeable and it not loose, it's just natural movement that sometimes occurs in solid wood. Finn Juhl chair shown for scale and is not included, it can be seen listed under our other items for sale.
