A beautiful vintage abstract female form sculpture by A. Altmann. It was made in London, England and dates from the 1960’s.

It is superbly executed in bronze and gesso, with amazing details. It is open to interpretation, but we see this as strongly representing the female form. It is in excellent condition.

A. Altmann was a remarkably talented artist based in Hampstead Garden Suburb. She created paintings and sculptures, working with marble, plaster and driftwood. She was not a working artist as far as we know, she was a housewife creating art in her spare time, much of it with a strong feminist theme.
