A wonderful vintage bronze and driftwood sculpture by A. Altmann. It was made in London, England and dates from the 1960’s.
It is a beautiful abstract piece open to interpretation, with a fantastic juxtaposition of materials.
It is mounted on solid teak plinth base. It is in excellent condition.
A. Altmann was a remarkably talented artist based in Hampstead Garden Suburb. She created paintings and sculptures, working with marble, plaster and driftwood. She was not a working artist as far as we know, she was a housewife creating art in her spare time, much of it with a strong feminist theme. We have several of her other sculptures available, seen listed under our other items for sale.
