A beautiful vintage nude sculpture by A. Altmann. It was made in London, England and dates from the 1960’s.

It is superbly executed in gesso, with amazing details. It is a large and impressive size, and is in excellent condition.

A. Altmann was a remarkably talented artist based in Hampstead Garden Suburb. She created paintings and sculptures, working with marble, plaster and driftwood. She was not a working artist as far as we know, she was a housewife creating art in her spare time, much of it with a strong feminist theme.
