A superb Art Deco figured walnut leather top desk / dressing table , made in England and dating from the 1930’s.
This is of amazing quality, it is beautifully constructed from solid and veneered walnut. It is very sturdy and heavy for its size, there is beautiful joinery with dovetailed joints on the drawers and cross banding on the drawer fronts. The top is split into two sections which have brown inset leather tops with tooled edges. The two halves of the top slide apart to reveal inner storage space, which us a very unique and interesting feature. The back of this is nicely finished, so it can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb for its age. There is just some age related patina and discolouration to the leather tops, with no real damage.
