An exceptionally rare item, this is a very early desk made by McIntosh of Kircaldy, dating from the 1930-50’s. McIntosh are known for their mid-century modern designs, this is the first time we have ever come across and Art Deco design by them.

This has an early McIntosh badge inside the drawers that we have never seen before, the design of the desk is distinctly Art Deco, and the construction is older than any other McIntosh item we have ever seen.

This is beautifully made and is of extremely high quality. It sits on fantastic tapered legs, has stunning walnut veneers throughout, and an inset leather top. This is beautifully finished on the back, so can be used as a free standing item.

We have just had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb throughout for its age.
