A stylish and iconic set of ‘Cesca’ dining chairs, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in the 1920’s. These were made in Italy, they date from around the 1970’s. We have paired them with a fantastic glass vintage dining table, also from the 1970’s.
The chairs are extremely well made, and are very comfortable, the cantilevered base gives them a nice gentle spring. The backs are caned and they have light greet vinyl drop in seats, which have a lovely colour tone. The seats are all stamped underneath ‘Made in Italy’.
The table is also of really good quality, it is made from clear, thick toughened glass with a steel central support. The glass pieces of the base are held in place with bolts, the table can flat pack.
The condition of the chairs is very good for their age, they are sturdy with no damage to the cane, the drop in seats are in perfect condition. There is just some minor surface wear here and there and a few marks to the outside of the wooden frames, seen in the images.
The table is also in very good condition, there are just a couple of tiny chips to the underside of one edge, seen in the images.
