An exceptionally stylish, rare and highly sought after pair of vintage De Sede DS-600 snake sofas in leather. They were made in Switzerland by De-Sede in the 1970-80’s.
This iconic design is by by Ueli Berger, Eleonora Peduzzi-Riva, Heinz Ulrich, and Klaus Vogt. It consists of twenty four sections in brown leather and felt, that are connected with steel pin joints and zips. Four of the sections are slightly raised armrest sections that go on the ends. They can be attached and configured in many different ways, the flexibility between the sections mean the sofa can curve back and forth in wonderful shapes, giving rise to the name of “the snake sofa”.
These sofas are in exceptional condition, each of the sections have been revived and enhanced by our leather restorer. There is just one repair to one piece of leather that holds the zip, this sits right between the seating sections so is barely noticeable at all, it is shown in the close up images.
