A stylish and extremely rare vintage modular dressing table / desk in rosewood. This was made in England, it was designed by Richard Hornby for Heals as part of the Fyne Ladye range.
This model was made and catalogued in afromosia wood, so to find this in rosewood is incredibly unusual, it may have been a one off commission. Designed as a bedroom piece, this could equally be used as a home office desk and used with a desk chair as the knee height and width are that of a regular desk.
The quality is exceptional and this is beautifully designed, with a sleek and minimal look. This consists of two low chests of drawers, one single width chest and one double width chest. They are joined together by a formica topped centre piece, with a flip up mirror and storage compartment. The centre piece joins to the two chests by metal clip brackets.
We have had this fully stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb throughout. The colour and rosewood grain patters are gorgeous.
This also comes with a stool in solid afromosia wood, made in the 1960’s by the British manufacturer Vanson. The stool was not originally part of this set as retailed, but the previous owner was using it, and it works very well. The stool is in very good condition structurally, there is just some wear to the corners of the black vinyl seat cover.
We also have the matching tall chest of drawers that came with this, seen listed under our other items for sale.
