A super stylish and iconic design, this is a vintage reproduction of the Charles & Ray Eames La Chaise longue, we would date it from around the 1970-80’s.
Charles and Ray Eames originally designed this for a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1948. It was inspired by the ‘Floating Figure’ sculpture by Gaston Lachaise.
The shell is fibreglass, with a gorgeous and organic shape. It sits on a solid wood X frame base, with chromed steel supports.
This is a very impressive size and is in good condition for its age. The white fibreglass shell has some surface wear and a few extremely minor chips to the white paint finish on the ages, showing its age.
