1950’s Rosewood & Mahogany Dining Table & Chairs by Robin Day for Hille
An absolutely stunning and extremely rare vintage dining suite, this was designed by Robin Day for Hille in 1954. It’s beautifully made and in lovely condition for its age, having been restored by the previous owners. The dining table has a mahogany frame with a beautiful rosewood top and fitted brass stretchers. This has two extra leaves, when extended fully it’s enormous. There are eight chairs that come with this, four side chairs and four carver chairs. The chair frames are mahogany, with tanned leather straps supporting the drop in seats. These were re-upholstered by the previous owner fairly recently, the fabric is in good condition with only some minor wear and it’s a lovely colour, so we’ve left it as is. The chair frames have some minor surface wear here and there, overall they are clean, sturdy and sound. The table top has also been recently polished, so is in good condition with also just some minor wear. There is one tiny chip to the veneer on the edge of one leaf, seen in the images.
