1950’s Vintage Danish Teak Sofa by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen
Item Description
A stunning and very rare vintage Danish teak sofa, this was designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. It was made by France and Daverkosen and it has the original badge intact, which means it can be dated to somewhere between 1953 and 1957 (from 1958 onwards France & Daverkosen became France & Son). The condition is fantastic for its age, there is just some very minor wear and a few minor marks to the solid teak frame here and there. The rattan back and sides are mostly intact and in very good condition, there is just one incredibly small bit of damage to the rattan on one back panel, which is not visible at all when the cushions are in place, it is shown in the images. We have had the cushions newly made and upholstered in a great quality off white fabric. These are incredibly rare, especially in this large three seat version. We also have the matching armchair and coffee table available separately, seen listed under our other items for sale.
