A stunning and rare Danish vintage rosewood dining table by Arne Vodder. This is the model 227 table, it was made in Denmark and dates from the 1960’s.
It is very well made, the quality is superb. This has nice rosewood grain patterns and a lovely colour tone throughout, it has a stylish and very clever design, essentially converting from a two seater into a ten seater. There are curved drop end leaves that attach to brass hooks on either side. They can be easily removed, and when lifted into place, are supported by wooden runners that slide out from the ends. There are two additional leaves that fit inside to extend this table to seat up to ten people. The legs can unbolt and detach, this flat packs completely for ease of transport.
We have had this recently stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb for its age.
The wood is Santos rosewood which does not require a CITES or article 10.
